Kaneie Mountain Spider Katana Swords for sale feature an elongated 29 ½ blade length. Also called the Yama no Kumo Samurai Swords, they have a classic spider themed fuchi and kashira with bamboo leaf menuki. These swords have a differentially hardened, hand forged T10 tool steel that has been polished by hand to an art finish. The sharpened blade features well-balanced cutting potential with apple seed edge geometry. The Mountain Spider Katana Swords are 41 ½ inches in all with a 10 ½ inch handle which has two bamboo Mekugi pins. The Mekugi pin is the small peg that is used to secure the handle (Tsuka) to the tang of Japanese swords. Kaneie manufactures these swords by having the Tsuka carved as a friction fit to the tang. Therefore, the second Mekugi is not functional; it is included solely for personal preference. The Yama no Kumo typically have the following specifications: 6 ½ inch point of balance, 7/8th inch Sori. They have a steel tsuba and a brass Habaki and brass Seppa. The Menuki is crafted of silver-plated brass. The handle wrap features Japanese cotton and the Samegawa is genuine white Ray Skin. The Koiguchi is made of traditional Buffalo horn.
