The Batto Collection is made to serve the cutting requirements of students who practice iaido, iaijutsu and kenjutsu. The Budo I swords are 40 ΒΌ inches in all. They have a sharpened and functional 29 inch samurai katana blade. To produce exceptional heavy cutting performance, Kaneie crafts these swords with 1060 high carbon steel. The handle is 10 inches to permit for a better grip. The Budo I has a six inch point of balance, a guard thickness of 6.5mm and a tip thickness of 5.25mm. The sori is one inch. The Budo I swords weigh approximately 2 pounds, 7 ounces. The tsuba is crafted of steel, while the Habaki, Menuki and Seppa are made of brass.
