The Budo II swords are 40 inches in all and feature a prominent Bo-Hi. The addition of a Bo-Hi produces a lighter and well-balanced blade. The Budo II swords have a sharpened and functional 29 inch samurai katana blade. The blade is through-hardened. Kaneie boasts that the through-hardened blade is tougher than a traditional differentially hardened blade and better suited for practice and cutting use. To produce exceptional heavy cutting performance, Kaneie crafts these swords with 1060 high carbon steel. The handle is 10 inches.
