Budo IV Cutting Katana Swords
$469.99
Kaneie Budo IV Swords for sale are tough, through-hardened cutting katanas from the Batto Collection. The popular Batto Collection is designed for Japanese swordsmanship arts and to serve the unique needs of students of iaido, iaijutsu and kenjutsu. The Budo IV Swords are 38 inches in all and have a sharp, functional 27 inch samurai katana style blade made of 1060 high carbon steel. Kaneie uses a through-hardened blade on the Budo IV, instead of using the traditional differentially hardening method. This through-hardening technique creates a tough blade built for utilitarian use, practice and cutting. The fast cutting Budo IV Swords feature a 9 ½ inch handle which has two tapered bamboo Mekugi pins. The Mekugi pin is the small peg that is used to secure the handle (Tsuka) to the tang of Japanese swords. Kaneie manufactures these swords by having the Tsuka carved as a friction fit to the tang. Therefore, the second Mekugi is not functional; it is included solely for personal preference. These swords typically have the following specifics: weight of 2 pounds, 4 ounces, Point of balance at 6 ¼ inches and ¾ inch Sori. They have a steel tsuba, brass Habaki, Seppa and brass Menuki. They have a cotton handle wrap, cotton Sageo and a genuine white Ray Skin Samegawa. They have a traditional Koiguchi made of Buffalo horn. Buy these Kaneie Budo IV Swords for $469.99.
