Kaneie Budo III Swords for sale are robust cutting katanas from the Batto Collection. The popular Batto Collection is made for Japanese swordsmanship arts. They are designed to serve the unique needs of students who practice iaido, iaijutsu and kenjutsu. The Budo III Swords measure 38 ¾ inches in all. They have a sharp, functional 27 ½ inch samurai katana style blade that is manufactured of 1060 high carbon steel. Kaneie uses a through-hardened blade on the Budo III, instead of the traditional differentially hardening method. This through-hardening method creates a tough blade built for utilitarian use, practice and cutting. The Budo III Swords have a 10 inch handle with two bamboo Mekugi pins. The Mekugi pin is the small peg that is used to secure the handle (Tsuka) to the tang of Japanese swords. Kaneie manufactures these swords by having the Tsuka carved as a friction fit to the tang. Therefore, the second Mekugi is not functional; it is included solely for personal preference. The Budo III Swords typically weigh 2 pounds 6 ounces with a point of balance at 6 inches, 7/8th inch Sori, guard thickness of 6.5mm and tip thickness of 5.25mm. They have a steel tsuba, brass Habaki, Seppa and brass Menuki. The Fuchi/Kashira is crafted of silver-plated brass. They have a cotton handle wrap, cotton Sageo and a genuine white Ray Skin Samegawa.
